Routes, stops and the right direction.

OPTION 01

Trolleybus 59 + Metro A

Start hereBus stops outside Terminals 1 and 2
Travel toNádraží Veleslavín → central Prague

Buy a PID ticket before boarding and validate an unstamped paper ticket on the first vehicle; activate an app ticket with its required lead time. Take 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín and change to metro A. Return: metro A to that station, then 59 to your terminal.

OPTION 02

Airport Express AE

Start hereAirport Express signed stop, check terminal instructions
Travel toPraha hlavní nádraží

AE connects the airport with the main railway station. It requires a separate AE ticket; ordinary city tickets do not cover it. Check the airport page for current boarding arrangements and return from the station’s AE stop.

Purchase & validation

Follow the route-specific instructions above. A paper ticket may need stamping, an app ticket may need activation, and a contactless journey may require both entry and exit taps. These are different systems: do not assume one rule applies everywhere.

Use official machines, counters or the operator’s app. Keep the ticket or payment device until you have left the final station. A payment receipt is not always the travel ticket.

Children, luggage & city passes

Before buying, enter every child’s exact age and check whether an infant needs a reserved seat. Resident or school concessions may not apply to visitors. Confirm luggage and pushchair rules with the airport-service operator.

Do not assume a 24-, 48- or 72-hour city pass includes the airport, a premium express service or a regional onward journey. Check the named operator, zones and airport supplements first.

A door-to-door arrival.

Taxi & private transfer

Use the airport’s signed licensed taxi rank, official booking desk or a pre-booked transfer with a named operator. Confirm the total fare, exact destination and pickup location before accepting the ride. For the return, book your hotel address and airport terminal explicitly.

Expected cost

A reliable current taxi estimate has not been verified for this full journey. Request a written all-in quote; city destination, traffic, night charges, tolls, luggage and vehicle size can change the total.

Before confirming your car

  • Give your flight number and ask how delayed arrivals are handled.
  • Confirm whether the price is per vehicle or per passenger.
  • Request the right child seat and enough space for luggage.
  • Ask about waiting charges, tolls and cancellation terms.
  • For an app booking, match the driver and number plate and use its marked pickup zone.

App availability and airport pickup rules vary. Use the airport’s named providers; a ride available in the city may not be authorised to collect at every terminal.

Make the flight home feel easy.

Work backwards from check-in

Start with your airline’s required airport arrival time. Add the full ground journey, walking between terminals, waiting time and a buffer for disruption. For a route with changes, check the first local departure as well as the airport service.

An early flight may leave before public transport starts. Compare a pre-booked taxi, an earlier coach or an airport-area overnight stay.

Use a dated journey planner

Select the actual date, direction and terminal. Check weekday, weekend and holiday schedules, the last service and any replacement buses. A scheduled time is not necessarily a live prediction.
