Your practical guide between Kraków Airport (KRK) and the city: trains, day buses, night buses and door-to-door rides.

Checked 15 October 2026. Prices are in Polish złoty (PLN). Check your travel date for departures, diversions and current fares.
After arrivals, follow the Train / Pociąg signs to the covered footbridge. It connects the terminal to Kraków Lotnisko / Kraków Airport station, behind the multi-storey car park. Use lifts if you have a pushchair or heavy luggage.
Take SKA1 towards Kraków Główny / Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia and leave at Kraków Główny for the main station and Old Town access. Check the departure board: SKA1 is the route name, while each departure has its own train number. Follow the displayed platform, not a fixed platform number in a guide.
Follow Bus / Autobus signs outside the passenger terminal to the stop named Kraków Airport. Check the electronic departure screen near the information desk and the current stop sign. Choose your line and direction from the table below.
Follow the official taxi signs for Kraków Airport Taxi, or request an app ride after collecting your bags. For Uber, Bolt or Freenow, follow the pickup location shown in your booking; it may differ from the official taxi rank. Match the registration plate and driver before boarding.
Go to Kraków Główny railway station, beside Galeria Krakowska. Find a departure whose destination is Kraków Lotnisko / Kraków Airport. Check its platform and track on the departure board. Do not take the opposite-direction SKA1 towards Wieliczka.
At the airport station, use the covered footbridge to the terminal and follow Departures / Odloty. The standard adult train fare is 20 zł each way between the airport and Kraków Główny; a separate tram or bus journey to the station is not automatically included.
Use 300 from Os. Podwawelskie, or a suitable airport-bound stop on its route; Rondo Grunwaldzkie is a useful interchange. At night, use 902 from Dworzec Główny Wschód. For 209 from Salwator, verify that your exact departure calls at Kraków Airport. Confirm the stop position and direction in the current planner.
Set your exact hotel entrance as pickup and Kraków Airport (KRK), passenger terminal, as destination. Compare the app quote or ask the taxi company for a confirmed price. The airport’s published outbound distance fares are not a guaranteed return fare from every city address.
| Line | Airport → city direction | City → airport boarding | Useful to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 Day bus | Os. Podwawelskie, via Rondo Grunwaldzkie | Os. Podwawelskie / airport-bound stops | Useful for the south side of the centre. It does not terminate at Kraków Główny railway station. |
| 209 Day bus | Salwator | Salwator | Check the exact 209 journey for an airport stop; the route continues into the surrounding area. Often less convenient for the main station. |
| 902 Night bus | Dworzec Główny Wschód | Dworzec Główny Wschód | Night service to the east side of the main station. Check the date after midnight, service alerts and the exact return stop. |
Buy a Kraków Airport ↔ Kraków Główny ticket through Koleje Małopolskie, KOLEO or Jakdojade, or use the train’s ticket machine. The airport also lists onboard conductor sales with cash/card. If boarding without a ticket, approach staff immediately and check any applicable sales conditions.
Check the route, date and validity on your rail ticket; keep its barcode ready for inspection. Do not stamp a rail ticket in a city-bus validator. Luggage is free on the airport train. Check age-based concessions and required documents with the rail operator.
The airport bus stop is outside city Zone I. Choose a ticket covering the airport, such as an I+II+III product. A Zone I-only day pass is insufficient. A normal city bus ticket does not cover the airport train; buy the correct rail product separately.
Buy paper bus tickets at the arrivals-hall machine on level 0 or the bus-stop machine. Stamp an unused paper ticket immediately after boarding. For mobile tickets, set up the app first, then complete purchase/activation immediately on boarding as instructed; keep the valid ticket available.
For transfers, compare 60 minutes at 8 zł or 90 minutes at 9 zł. All-zone passes: 24 hours 25 zł, 48 hours 40 zł, 72 hours 55 zł. These are adult bus/tram fares. Reduced prices require eligibility; do not assume every visiting child qualifies for every discount.
Book online through Kraków Airport Taxi or call +48 12 258 0 258 (call centre 06:00–22:00). Confirm the address, distance band, vehicle size and any waiting or extra-stop charges. Card payment is accepted.
From-airport examples: 8–11.9 km = 89 zł; 12–14.9 km = 109 zł; 15–18.9 km = 129 zł; 19–22.9 km = 149 zł. These are per vehicle to one destination, not per person. Your hotel’s actual distance decides the band.
Book official taxi ↗Uber’s airport page showed a recent average of about 56 zł for UberX from KRK to Kraków when checked. This is historical context, not a quote or a return-trip guarantee. Enter your exact pickup and destination to see the current offer.
Bolt and Freenow also serve KRK. Compare the in-app offer before confirming; no fixed fare is promised here. Check luggage capacity, request a suitable child seat in advance and confirm availability for an early pickup.
A pre-booked hotel/private transfer is another door-to-door option: confirm the total, meeting point, flight-delay policy, bags and child seats directly with the provider. Rental cars are available at the airport; compare parking and return arrangements as well as the hire price.
Map links help locate routes and stops. Check the operator’s timetable for your actual date; these links are not a live departure board.
